Sun, 11/11/2007 - 01:22 — petervTriggered by the article in Linux Journal of December 2007, I wrote my first "Hello World" application for facebook. Actually not that difficult, using the Rfacebook plug-in for Ruby on Rails. Installed the Rfacebook plug-in in a Ruby on Rails set-up hosted at home, used dyndns to link back home, pierced a little (?) hole in my firewall and set-up the facebook application to "call home" and use my home server as sort of web service to execute the requests to the application.

After asking me true-untrue on these questions about myself and my current employer ...
1) My manager often tells people to stop talking to each other and to get back to working on their own.
2) My manager tries to keep things fresh by making sure I'm not always doing the same thing everyday.
3) I can access training programs to expand my skills and knowledge.
4) I handle each daily challenge in a different way, rather than by following a set process.
5) Managers always talk about keeping customers happy.

The case that made me do this is where I was asked to review a paper on archeology, I first sent it to the Professor sharing my name at University of Ghent in the Cell biology department, and he then had to forward it to his colleague in Archeology ...
